New Dog Won’t Play…?
I just rescued a dog a couple weeks go. H’es a 2 year old German Shperherd/Mastiff (or Rottie?) Mix….he is the SWEETEST most friendly dog you will ever meet and is very well behaved, doesn’t even bark. As much as it is AMAZING having a sweet, mellow dog, there is also a downside because he doesn’t play like a regular brand cialis online dog. I know he has energy because he likes to run and go on walks and get belly rubs, but whenever I try and throw a ball, toy, stuffed animal, etc…he just completely ignores it and kind of walks away.
Does anyone know if there is a way to “teach” a dog to play? Or could it just be that his breed isn’t a very playful one? I’m thinking maybe his old owners (if he had any) never played with him or abused him if he played…..but I can;t tell.
If anyone else has dealt with this with their dog then please let me know what I could do!
I want to have fun with him and want him to have a fun happy life as well
Playing is something that has to be taught to a dog. it doesn’t come naturally. Just start by dragging a toy across the floor and in an excited high pitch voice…tell him..GET IT! GET IT! eventually he’ll get the hang of it. And, you’re probably right, his previous owners probably didn’t teach him how to play.
