Why does my dog
He snapped at my husband the other day when he went to correct him because he got up from his down and stay command, he showed his teeth at him, and snapped at him on his hand, is there a way to stop dogs from doing that? We are using the Don Sullivans training techniques with him. Sometimes when we approach him to correct him he will show his teeth, and I just don’t know what to do. The training dvd covers aggression, but it doesn’t go into detail with dominantcy aggression. He is a 7 month old rottweiler male, neutered. And I was told by a trainer that cialis commercial bathtubs he has “alfa tendency” so i am just wondering if there is a certain way he should be trained, and maybe this training will make things worse.
I just am lost. We really love this dog.
NO!!! I would never it my dog. We are using Don Sullivans training methods.. he has a command collar on and you snap it a couple times. It’s like a choke chain.
By “correct,” do you mean “hit”? If so, that is not the way to deal with an alpha personality dog. They will just see it as a threat and respond accordingly. I made the same mistake with my American Bulldog mix. We went to a training class and the instructor encouraged me to hit her when she did not properly execute a command. My ex husband didn’t help matters, either. He would take the correction too far. I had to pay a behaviorist $450 to get her back on track. She’s gotten so much better now, and I am firmly in charge without laying a finger on her. I would say its time to consult a behaviorist before this gets out of hand.
